Case Study: Building an ESG Market Ready Platform Through Strategic Planning

An ESG technology startup developing an AI-powered compliance platform was in the early ideation phase with a vision to simplify Environmental, Social, and Governance compliance for small and medium-sized businesses.

The founder needed to translate this ambitious concept into concrete deliverables that would attract funding and validate the platform’s commercial viability

Calibre Consulting partnered with the startup to develop a comprehensive business case that articulated the platform’s value proposition across workplace health and safety, environmental compliance, and broader ESG requirements

The business case addressed critical pain points faced by target customers.

businesses struggling to navigate complex, jurisdiction-specific regulations while lacking internal EHS expertise

Working alongside the founder, Calibre engaged with a development team to create a functional prototype of the platform.

This Prototype product featured AI-generated compliance action plans tailored to Western Australian regulations, an expert matching system connecting businesses with certified professionals, and a product marketplace for safety equipment and compliance tools

The engagement culminated in a structured go-to-market business plan outlining a phased launch strategy.

Phase 1 focused on the Western Australian market with workplace health and safety features.

Phase 2 expanded nationally while incorporating environmental topics, and Phase 3 targeted global markets across Southeast Asia, UK, North America and Europe.

The plan included detailed revenue models through tiered subscription pricing for end users, service providers, and product suppliers.

Through this engagement, the ESG startup gained a complete investor-ready package including market validation, functional prototype, revenue model, and scalable expansion strategy, providing the foundation needed to pursue government grants and venture funding.
